Help the Blind Foundation (HTBF) provides visually impaired students in India access to higher education along with training to develop the knowledge and skills they would need to obtain employment and develop their careers.

Chellaram Foundation has partnered with HTBF to provide scholarships to visually impaired students and achievement incentives.

This enables visually impaired students from poor economic background from all over India to obtain a university education, become self-sufficient and support their families.

Mr D K Patel was the driving force behind Help The Blind Foundation (HTBF). He founded HTBF in Hong Kong in 2005.  Initially its focus was to help blind school-going children by building/improving existing schools. Later his vision shifted to providing visually impaired students in India access to university education in integrated colleges.

V Ramani

Mr J V Ramani is the current head of HTBF India. HTBF India was established in Chennai in 2010 with academics and professionals as Trustees to implement the mission of the Foundation.
